In Town rivals Covenant and TN Temple live up to hype with all around great ballgame!Good Weather, great defensive plays, solid pitching, clutch hitting, and mutual respect by coaches and players highlighted the evening that saw a maturing of a Temple squad who has many times seen close leads fade to more confident experienced clubs but not Thursday night as Senior Taylor Vaughn pitched as well as he has in his four year career.  The former Bradley Central Bear lived up to his billing by tossing a 9 inning complete game, surrendering only five hits and one run to a Covenant team that has proved they can play with anyone they face.  Vaughn was able to slow down several Scots hitters who are statistically ranked nationally and in their respective conference.  It should be noted that Covenant hurlers stymied Temple batters throughout the night but the Crusaders were able to plate two runs off the bats of Senior Jeremy McKay (1 RBI) and Freshman Tyler Cross who was 2-4 with an RBI.  The Temple Coaching staff stated they were as pleased with this win as any all year due to the complete game played by all.
