M BASKETBALL: Tennessee Temple's Mack named TSWA winner
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Temple's Hampton Mack was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 15.3 points and 9.0 rebounds and helping the Crusaders to a victory at NCAA Division II North Alabama.
The Orlando, Fla., native posted 18 points, 10 rebounds (seven offensive) and three assists in a 90-84 loss against Reinhardt University, hitting 7-of-16 shots. The junior recorded 14 points and 11 boards with three assists and two steals in a 71-56 win against Truett-McConnell College, making 6-of-14 shots and all four free throws.
Mack was 7-for-11 from the field with netted 14 points with six rebounds, one assist and two steals in a 71-68 win at North Alabama, improving the Crusaders to 7-4 this season. He is averaging 11.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest this season. TTU plays again November 17 at Alabama-Huntsville.
