The Tennessee Temple University men's basketball team stretched its winning streak to 12 games with a 75-69 defeat of Union University in the semifinals of the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I tournament Friday night in Temple's McGilvray Gymnasium.
The Crusaders play today for a berth in the national tournament against Mid-Continent from Kentucky, which held off Hiwassee for a 95-90 victory.
Corieson Pearson and Daniel Marti had 23 and 20 points and eight and 11 rebounds Friday for Union (8-19), which moved this year from NAIA Division I to NCAA Division II, but the depth and balance of coach Brac Brady's Crusaders won out. Corey Sanders had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Temple (21-11), while Rashaud Bell and Travaris Clarke each scored 11 points. The Crusader will play in the regional Championship game Today at 2:00 EST
