The Crusaders' volleyball team takes care of business against a team part of the NAIA. Saturday, October 12, the Crusaders traveled to Talladega College. The first set the Crusaders won with a 25-22 victory; however, the Crusaders fell short the following two sets 19-25 and 17-25. With Talladega having a 2-1 lead, the Crusaders dug deep, capitalized on Talladega's mistakes, and fought hard to pull out a victory in the forth set 25-23. In the fifth and final set, Talladega took the lead 8-6. However, behind Natasha Petrillo's serves, the Crusaders fought back with the lead. The Crusaders won the fifth set and the match with 15-13. Kiara Govan finished the match with 47 assists. Victoria Smith lead the offense with 16 kills. Lydia Vick had a solid performance with 12 kills and 15 digs. Shatoya Medford continued to be a strong leader for the Crusaders with 20 digs and 10 kills. Kaylee Ginnings was a machine on defense with 24 digs. The Crusaders' record is 15-13, and their next match is Tuesday, October 15 against Rienhardt University.
