Tennessee Temple University announced the hiring of Kenrick Liburd as the Crusaders Women's Basketball and Women's Volleyball Head Coach. Liburd comes to Temple from Machias, Maine where he served as the boys head basketball coach at Washington Academy. In addition, Liburd has served the last two years as the head coach of MBR Girls Basketball which is currently the top girls AAU program in the state of Maine. Liburd's team finished third at the 2008 New England AAU tournament. Liburd also served as an assistant men's and women's coach at the University of Maine - Machias from 2003-2005. He has also assisted in various volleyball camps and clinics during his time in Maine.
"My family and I are thrilled to become a part of the Tennessee Temple University community," said Liburd "It is an exciting opportunity for all of us, and one which we will embrace wholeheartedly. I am excited about the challenge of recruiting great players that are committed to their faith, education, and sports." When asked about next season Coach Liburd added that "It's all about getting the right student-athletes for TTU, and with the support offered by the TTU staff, I'm confident that the 09-10 season will be an exciting one!"
Liburd is a native of London England and received his BS in Business Administration from the University of Maine - Machias in 2005. He is currently completing his Masters of Arts in Leadership from Bellevue University.
"Kenrick's well rounded coaching experience in addition to his recruiting contacts will help us accomplish what is needed in both sports" said Secord. "With the energy and excitement shown by Kenrick during the search process I am confident we have the right person to lead the charge."
