Several Crusader performers recognized for endeavors off the field and court on honors day!May 3rd-  The athletic department was very proud on honors day as some of the most respected athletes on campus were honored for something other than three pointers, rebounds, hits and strikeouts.

Chris Ostrander one of the gritty leaders from Coach Randy Lee's young basketball team was credited with the "Crusader Award" which exemplifies outstanding character on and off the playing surface, Chris has been at TTU for a few years and is preparing to attend  Southwestern Baptist  Theological Seminary where he and his wife will be planning to continue their education to live a life for Christ.  He has been well known at Temple for his humor, hard work and toughness, Coach Lee says his leadership will be missed.

From the baseball program three Student athletes were recognized.  Taylor Vaughn was awarded the Wall Street Journal Achievement award for outstanding leadership in the school of business.  He plans to seek possible international business opportunities and to continue to be a Christian business leader.  John Creed was credited with the Golden Apple award given to the student who displays outstanding potential in student teaching, Professor Secord mentioned he time and time aain went above and beyond his requirements to help and work with youth daily.
And finally Jeremy McKay was awarded the Red and White award., symbolizing the student athlete who represents the university in all phases, academic, social, athletic and spiritually.  Jeremy was a consistent representative of TTU's core values and Christian leadership.
