Supporting Cancer Research, sporting the pink!
As we are about to finish up the 2010-2011 men's soccer season this season has been filled with highs and lows. The biggest highlight for this mostly young team has to be the fact they have all ready posted more wins this year being 4 - 11 then all of the last year which ended with 2 - 15 and they still have a couple of games left to improve upon that!!!

The most recent high point has to be beating Atlanta Christian 2-1 on the road. After going down 1-0 in the game early when a mistake left the ACC striker with a tap in at the back post. TTU came out for the second half fired up and dominated possession, they were rewarded for when Chris White was able to come up with what must be described as goal of the season, a wonderful individual effort, picking the ball up deep beating two players then striking the ball in the top corner to equalize. As the pressure mounted on the ACC defense, we won a free kick on the edge of the box, which lead to an altercation seeing the referee produce two cards, one Yellow for an ACC player and a Red to TTU playmaker Thomas Gareau for unsportsmanlike conduct. Chris White stepped up to the free kick and scored his second goal of the game. The ten men of TTU were able to hang on, nearly adding to their total in the final minutes, this was truly a tough fought game by all as big school rivalries always are. This game also made us proud of our boys for a whole different reason besides playing hard and coming out with the VICTORY!!!! They took it upon themselves to support breast cancer awareness month and came out supporting this cause by wearing pink - sure wish I would have had a camera with me - let's do it again next year boys and we will get pics!!!

Now this message goes out to all of the parents, friends and family members, TTU students and faculty - we only have a couple of games left for the regular season and then we start the play offs - please come out to as many of the games as you possible can and support our CRUSADERS!!!! It means the world to them and it is great to get involved!!
