The Tennessee Sports Writers Association a statewide organization made up of journalists with print, TV, internet, etc., and SIDs and help promote athletics throughout the state. The organization has made a point to expand into the college ranks more this year and will be highlighting Players of the Week in football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer,  men's and women's basketball, baseball and softball during 2012-13.

 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Temple University's Liz Adams garnered the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors after leading the Crusaders to their first win of the season and scoring four goals with four assists in the victory.

 

The freshman midfielder from Sale Creek, Tenn., assisted on the first four goals of the game for TTU, all in the first half, with three scores from Rebecca Whiteside and one by Courtney Born. In the second half Adams found the back of the net in the 57th and 67th minutes on assists by Whiteside and scored unassisted in the 62nd and 73rd minutes.

 

Tennessee Temple takes on Greenville College this Saturday in Sewanee, Tenn.
