Tennessee Temple University began the area college basketball season Monday night by beating the Fisk teams at McGilvray Gymnasium, 70-55 in the women's game. This was Coach Monique Blanding debut as a Head Coach. For the Lady Crusaders, Amanda Rector and Angel Foster had 24 and 21 points and 11 and 14 rebounds, Foster adding six steals, and Bree Smith scored 12 points. Temple led 34-15 at halftime. Fisk got 15 and 13 points from Nailah Whitlock and Telliya Patton, and Sommer Griffin had 12 rebounds.
