Tennessee Temple University began the area college basketball season Monday night by beating the Fisk University at McGilvray Gymnasium, the Crusaders won 95-92 in overtime. Travaris Clarke scored 31 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field for the Crusaders, who got 21 points with five 3-point baskets from Weedlens Beauvil, 15 points and 18 rebounds from Cameron High and eight assists with nine points from Sean Anthony. Michael Vardaman and Richmond Jackson scored 23 and 21 points for Fisk, and Austin Watkins had 16 points and 12 rebounds. The Crusaders will take a break for a few days before traveling to Bethel University (TN) to play in their classic vs Bethel and Blue Mountain on November 7th and 8th.
